In case you didn't know, we turn two in March!
As we celebrate our 2nd birthday, we want to dive into the stories of 3 of our featured creative partners to share with us their take on creativity, how they utilize it in their craftsmanship, and the impact it has on inspiring the creative community of tomorrow.
In Part I of our feature, we have Jessica and Avis, Founders of Home Too Much to share with us their personal inspiration. Read on!
1. Tell us about yourself and your business.
We are both fashion graduates who met as colleagues in a fashion company and after we both left our day job, we decided to start something together and HomeTooMuch became one of the projects we have been working on.
2. How did the idea of materializing your creativity into physical products happen?
I guess being ”designers“, we like the feeling of “creating” and turning our ideas into tangible products. The adrenaline rush when our items are finally on the selling floor and the sense of achievement when someone buys our items are what keeps us going.
3. What’s the message you wish to send out to people who come across your brand/products?
Hopefully, our brand exudes a “homely” and familiar feeling where people can relate to the designs.
4. What inspires you in your current and future works?
The local creative scene has been really picking up thanks to the support from fellow Malaysian that are more open to buying local products. That inspires us to want to be part of the growth in the creative community.
We always try to find inspiration from our childhood memories or the current surroundings when we design and we hope that our future designs will continue to evoke a sense of nostalgia.
5. How have platforms like Naiise helped you in the growth of your brand?
Naiise has certainly been a vital outlet for connecting our brand to the right target audience and the support from our buyer, Umar and his team in communicating has ensured that there are enough stocks on the selling floor every time.
The feedback we got from the team and customers have also helped us with our design and production planning as well!
"We work with local suppliers and printers to manufacture our goods. This will create a healthy ecosystem to strengthen local businesses and minimize carbon footprint."
6. How do/does you/your brand play a part now in inspiring the creative community to move forward?
We believe in supporting locally made products and because of that, we work with local suppliers and printers to manufacture our goods. This will create a healthy ecosystem to strengthen local businesses and minimize carbon footprint.
As long as there are brands supporting local manufacturers, we believe that more small independent brands now and in the future will be able to produce their products without the need in big MOQs which will help avoid fashion waste.
